Messages generated by the Sobig virus arrive in your mailbox with one of nine randomly chosen subject lines:

– Re: Re: My details
– Re: Thank you!
– Re: That movie
– Re: Wicked screensaver
– Re: Your application
– Thank you!
– Your details
You can create an Outlook rule that automatically deletes those messages. Follow this sequence: Tools / Rules Wizard / New / Start from a blank rule / Check messages when they arrive / With specific words in the subject. Add each one of the Sobig subject lines. Then click on Move it to the specified folder / Deleted Items.
This version of the Sobig virus will stop spreading on September 9. Delete this rule after that, or you’ll never get a message from someone trying to thank you.
