Craigslist.com is getting a lot of good word-of-mouth lately – I’ve been hearing my clients talk about it as their preferred site for job listings, personal ads and dating, community resources, even for selling things that make more sense in a local market than a global market like eBay (tickets, for example).

Craigslist hit the news recently when eBay bought 25% of the company, making it clear that Craigslist has the potential to become a top-tier web site. What began as a Bay Area resource now covers 45 cities across the United States, plus cities in Canada and England – all run by 19 people trying to maintain a sense of community and connection on the web site from a small office in San Francisco.
