Ask.com is one of the perennial also-rans for Internet search, but you might want to take a look at the makeover introduced today. Search results are presented in three panes with a variety of types of information that might be relevant to your search, in addition to the basic list of web pages that Google or Yahoo pull up. Images that expand when you roll over them, video that can be previewed on the search results page, suggestions for refining the search, news items, all laid out nicely.
